Welcome
to the Pennsylvania 4-H Poultry Program
|
|
Youth of all walks of life (urban and rural) are involved
in the 4-H poultry program. The 4-H poultry projects are some of the
most popular 4-H programs in Pennsylvania.
Project work is the backbone of the 4-H poultry program.
Project areas are offered to youth 9 to 18 years old. Subjects include
embryology, raising and rearing poultry, and poultry and egg consumer
projects. These projects are what motivate youth to learn teamwork,
develop interpersonal skills, build enthusiasm and enjoy challenges.

The 4-H Poultry experience also provides a variety of
educational events as well as team and individual competitions. Decision-making,
communication and interpersonal skills are enhanced through project
learning, practice and teaching activities. Project support materials
provide technical background information that the 4-H member can use
in poultry and egg cookery presentation contests, showing, judging contests,
quiz bowls and other events.
The objective of this page is to provide educational
resources and support for 4-H'ers, extension professionals, volunteer
leaders and teachers interested in 4-H poultry programs. I decided to
release this site as it is being built since the information already
active will be helpful to you, the user. Quality web pages are continually
changing and being updated. So come back often and watch use grow. This
site contains:
