Procedures regarding Cooperative Extension's provision
of noncredit ACT 48 hours
|
|
The purpose of this page is to clarify key points and
update on revised procedures regarding Cooperative Extension's provision
of noncredit ACT 48 hours. Important documents are linked and referenced
below. Please read entire message.
Audience: ACT 48 hours can be provided for the professional
development of any Pennsylvania teacher who holds a current PA public
school certification.
Marketing: The statement to be used on Cooperative Extension
brochures and other marketing pieces should state: Penn State is an
ACT 48 Approved Provider. In addition, the number of hours can also
be advertised that will be earned for successful completion. Hours only
directly spent in receiving instruction can be counted (breaks, lunch,
etc. are excluded from time that is eligible for ACT 48 hours).
Program Approval: If a program is being developed and
will be delivered to an audience that includes PA certified teachers,
then program approval must occur prior to its delivery. 4 weeks prior:
complete and send form ACT48approvalform.doc
to Amy Gregor. Once the
approval is processed, you will be notified.
Program Reporting: 4-H
Embryology Training Project, Embryology In-Service, Embryology Project,
Embryology Training are all approved programs for ACT 48.
If a program is an already approved program, then at successful completion,
each participant will complete the form ACT48signatureform.doc.
The signed form is kept at the local site. Those completing the program
should receive an ACT48
Completion letter
CHANGE IN REPORTING PROCESS: The excel spreadsheet is
completed with all participant information and uploaded directly onto
the ACT 48 outreach web site. ACT48sampleroster.xls.
This new process will make it easier and more timely for uploading of
rosters and is similar to the process for all Better Kid Care programs.
